Professional Experience

Rob is an award winning landscape architect with over 20 years experience in private practice. He has practiced in a number of highly respected design studios since starting his career in 2002 in Queenstown, gaining experience in both London and Sydney before returning to his home town of Christchurch in 2010.

Prior to forming Studio3 he was an Associate Principal at one of New Zealand’s leading design firms where he was responsible for looking after an extensive portfolio of work across the South Island including a number of post-earthquake anchor projects in Otautahi. He has been involved in the design of city and town centres, streetscapes, heritage projects, private residences, public laneways, plaza’s, multi lot residential developments, schools, university campuses and memorials.

 

Rob is a creative designer and prides himself on being able to translate and communicate design ideas during early design stages through hand sketching and strong digital graphic communication, then backing it up through a solid practical approach to documentation and construction detailing.

At the end of the day, Rob is a pretty straight up type of guy who has a particular skill for being able to drill into the essence of what is being done. He values relationships, respects the natural environment and ultimately wants to make sure that what ends up in the ground is something both he and you can be proud of for years to come.
